Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) är en storskalig nationell satsning på forskning och innovation inom artificiell intelligens, autonoma system och mjukvara, finansierat av Knut och Alice Wallenbergs stiftelse tillsammans med partneruniversiteten och medverkande industri.

The ambition of WASP is to recruit at least 60 researchers from abroad, an initiative covering both promising assistant professors and outstanding senior professors. Wasp har som mål att finansiera 60 nya forskargrupper och över 400 doktorander på svenska lärosäten. Just nu pågår rekrytering av både svenska och internationella forskare till satsningen.

Stiftelsen stödjer i huvudsak vetenskaplig forskning och utbildning inom samhällsvetenskaperna. Universitet, högskolor, de vetenskapliga akademierna och liknande forsknings- och utbildningsinstitutioner kan erhålla anslag inom följande områden: Det handlar om avgörande nyckelteknik, säger Sara Mazur, tillträdande ordförande för WASP, Sveriges enskilt största privata forskningsprogram, där fokus är autonoma system, mjukvara och AI. WASP-HS (Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Programme – Humanities and Society) includes a national graduate school with up to 70 doctoral students, the creation of at least ten new research groups across Sweden, support for twelve visiting professors to strengthen Swedish research and networking activities, and a number of research projects.
